Mr. Rusty Shields, Principal

Every company undertaking a shift from a well-defined and commonly accepted paradigm requires a leader with vision and drive. Rusty Shields is that visionary leader behind Pinnacle Property Solutions, a private company that acquires and markets U.S. foreclosure properties with a SYSTEM of services that brings these properties back to life while financially benefiting all parties involved in the process.
With an extensive background in real estate and finance, Mr. Shields developed a business model to market foreclosed properties acquired from financial institutions. He also created a SYSTEM that inspects, filters and qualifies these properties to ensure they are marketable to home buyers. Properties are then sold via a revolutionary method whereby the price of the property is dictated by the Consumer, not the Product.
Mr. Shields is a noted seminar speaker and expert in all areas of corporate and personal finance. He is founded and serves as chairman of The Shield Foundation, a public charity committed to enhancing communities and the lives of the people who live there. During 2009, The Shield Foundation launched a national humanitarian program focused on providing homes to disabled veterans and has already donated a home to a family in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Joseph “Joe” Joseph, Sr., Chief Executive Officer

An accomplished communicator, administrator, decision maker, problem solver and financial analyst, Joe brings over three decades of experience to his role at Pinnacle. In tenures at previous companies, he has provided leadership at the levels of President, CEO, Operations Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Development Officer, and Management Systems Consultant. He is a graduate of Greensboro College.
Largely, the attraction he felt toward Pinnacle was rooted in the challenge of building the company. “One of the greatest challenges of leading a company in an emerging industry is that there is no ‘cookie-cutter’ approach to how things should be done,” he says. “However, there are solid business principles that can be applied to most decisions that must be made with a sense of immediacy in the face of real-time situations”. As the company’s CEO, he is charged with executing the strategic directives of the company’s principals by ensuring dynamic leadership and effective communication at all levels.
Pinnacle’s distinctives also played a large part in Joe’s decision to join the company. “What we do here is truly unique,” he says. “We are in the business of transitioning vacant houses into residential properties, returning lost homes back to their communities as family dwellings. We are also unique in our commitment to dedicate a large part of our profits to communities, villages, ministries and out-reach efforts and programs on an international scope.”
Dr. Gene Modlin, Director of Personnel

Dr. Modlin comes to Pinnacle Property Solutions after 25 years of owning and operating a successful dental practice. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1982. He is a past member of numerous professional organizations including, among others, the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Modlin served on the Board of Directors of Hickory Christian Academy and was Chairman of that Board from 2000 to 2002. He also served on the Board of Directors of Catawba Valley Community College from 2002-2006, where he was instrumental in establishing a dental hygiene program.
In his role as Pinnacle’s Director of Operations, Dr. Modlin touches every aspect of the company’s real estate investment system. “I am charged with ensuring that our people stay on task in terms of delivering top-notch service to our customers,” he says. “I also want to lead us in keeping the big picture in mind, treating each client with respect, and ensuring that our system for acquiring and selling homes is unique within the industry. Lastly, I want to make sure that all Pinnacle employees are valued and acknowledged for their contributions to our success, regardless of the positions they hold.”
Mr. Joseph Dillard, Director of Community Relations

If a career is defined as a successful progression from one position to another, then Mr. Dillard has found joy in that journey. An Army veteran, Mr. Dillard began civilian life selling life insurance. He moved from there to working for the railroad. After completing two years of study in Business Management at Paine College in Augusta, Mr. Dillard discovered that people, not processes, were his passion. He attended Georgia College with an academic emphasis on Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy. Shortly thereafter he was called to the pastorate. Mr. Dillard also founded a company that provides essential resources and practical spiritual encouragement to families, individuals and organizations while helping them along the transformational journey to becoming the very best they can be.
Mr. Dillard fills a unique role within Pinnacle Property Solutions. As pastor and an accomplished teacher, coach, speaker, seminar leader and mentor, Mr. Dillard continues to pursue his passion for people as the Corporate Trainer and Director of Personal Development for The Shield Foundation, a non-profit ministry. “There is no greater satisfaction an individual can derive in this life than that which comes from helping another,” he says. “At Pinnacle, we work hard to ensure a solid return to our real estate investors. We work just as hard at ensuring families and individuals have a place to call home. This is important work, and we invite others to join us in this worthwhile endeavor.”
